October 2025
Until October 6th - Grape and Wine Festival in Marino: In the picturesque setting of the Municipality of Marino, the Grape Festival celebrates its 101st edition, paying homage to a unique cultural and winemaking heritage. Since 1925, this event has been an unmissable event, combining tradition, culture, and entertainment. This festival par excellence, the oldest in Italy, is held from Friday to Monday, spanning the first Sunday in October. Its origins date back to Leone Ciprelli's desire to boost the city's economy by linking the historic victory of the Battle of Lepanto (October 7, 1571) with the local tradition associated with the month of October: the grape harvest and wine, historically important sources of income for Marino. Every year, the city's fountains offer a unique spectacle: wine flows instead of water, in a symbolic gesture reminiscent of the ancient Renaissance festivals of the Colonna family. The historical parade, religious processions, and cultural activities revive the atmosphere of a glorious era, attracting tourists from all over Italy and abroad.
